Job Overview:
A District Eagles Nest Ambassador serves as a liaison between their assigned district and the Council’s National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) Committee. Their primary responsibilities include collaborating with the Council’s NESA Sub-Committees to implement an Eagle Scout Alumni program within their designated district. In addition to program delivery, the Ambassador’s role involves identifying, connecting with, and re-engaging Eagle Scout Alumni within the district and community. They also support District and Council leadership in leveraging Eagle Alums’ time and resources to make a meaningful impact on Scouting.
Responsibilities:
- Identify local Eagle Scout Alumni.
- Encourage Eagle Alumni to become members of the Eagles Nest and NESA.
- Identify potential nominees for NESA Awards.
- Disseminate NESA and Eagles Nest news to the District.
- Offer valuable insights to the NESA Committee on best serving the local district and community.
- Manage and update the District Eagle Scout List using HubSpot.
- Support Eagle-related events within the District, Service Area, and Council.
- Provide Council and District leadership with the names of Eagle Scout Alumni suitable for potential committee service.
- Collaborate with the Service Area Ambassador to establish an Eagle Alumni Program within the District.
Qualifications:
- An individual in good standing with the BSA.
- Has a passion for Scouting and Eagle Scouts.
- Earned the rank of Eagle Scout
- Active membership in the Golden Gate Area Eagles Nest or National Eagle Scout Association (Recommended).
- Maintains positive working relationships with members of the District and local community.
Time Requirements:
- Open invitation to Council NESA Meetings; attendance is optional.
- Attendance at District Operating Committee meetings as needed.
- Participate in local Scouting and community events where Eagle Scouts are present when possible.
